Jed Lind and I shot these two 16mm films of "Achromatic Mobile no. 2" in my studio on Cypress Ave in 2010. We shot one 100ft roll in color and one in B&W. Jed initiated the filming of the mobiles on 16mm film, as he had been working on a film of his own and had the camera rental and some extra film. Jennifer has this idea that the mobile films need to be shown next to a vintage snowboarding videos from the early '90s so the movement of the mobiles mirrors the acrobatics of the snowboarders. She is convinced that the color in my paintings comes from the colors of the boards and clothes of late '80s and early '90s snowboard culture.
